Specimen processing instructions: |
Do not centrifuge lavender-top tube. Gold-top tube ONLY: Allow to clot. Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. | |
Transport temperature: |
Refrigerated (preferred) or room temperature. | |
Specimen stability: |
Lavender tube: Refrigerated 72 hours. Room temperature 24 hours.
Blood smears should be made from lavender tube within 16 hours of collection.
Gold top tube: Refrigerated 2 days. |
