Dr. Hoffer is Geisinger Medical Laboratories' system director for Surgical Pathology and  Histology. His areas of specialization include neuropathology, breast, cervical and gynecologic pathology, GI, thoracic, and genitourinary pathology. He is also the director of the Pathology Residency Program.


Education:

Dr. Hoffer received his MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his PhD in neuroscience and neuroanatomy from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Milton Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania. He completed his pathology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington, and a fellowship in neuropathology at University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, Washington. Dr. Hoffer was also trained in and practiced pathology in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for 12 years.
