Clinical significance: |
Phenytoin is an anticonvulsant hydantoin used for the treatment of generalized grand mal and complex partial seizures. Phenytoin is also used in neurosurgical procedures. Phenytoin levels are monitored to assure adequate theraepeutic levels are achieved and to avoid toxicity. | |
