Immediately separate serum specimens from the cells into sterile, plastic, screw-capped vial(s).

Refrigerated (preferred) or frozen.
Specimen stability:
Room Temperature: Unacceptable. Refrigerated: 2 weeks. Frozen: 1 month.
Rejection criteria:
Room temperature specimen unacceptable.
