Clinical significance: |
Interleukin-2 Receptor Alpha Chain (IL-2Ra/CD25), Soluble - Following stimulation by antigen, IL-2R is expressed on all T cells. IL-2R is released by activated cells into the surrounding extracellular fluid. IL2-R is involved in infectious, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, cancer, and transplantation. IL-2R Antibodies are used therapeutically. Cytokine levels may demonstrate diurnal variation. Recommend cytokine levels be determined at the same time of day for improved longitudinal comparison. |
