TEST DETAILS
Reference interval:
Negative. The p190 BCR-ABL1 fusion transcript (e1a2) is not detected.
Additional information:
The lower limit of detection (LLod) and lower limit of quantitation (LoQ) for the BCR-ABL1 p190 assay is 0.003 %ratio. Supporting procedural data for this assay lists the LLod as 0.0025 %ratio and LoQ as 0.0036 %ratio.
CPT code(s):
81207
Note: The billing party has sole responsibility for CPT coding.  Any questions regarding coding should be directed to the payer being billed.  The CPT codes provided by GML are based on AMA guidelines and are for informational purposes only.
Test includes:
The results of this test are reported in BCR-ABL1/ABL1 %ratio. This test does not detect the rare BCR-ABL1 micro (p230) fusion form. For the p210 fusion form (major breakpoint), order BCR-ABL1 p210, Monitor, RT-qPCR.
Methodology:
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR)
Synonyms:
BCR, ABL, BCR-ABL, BCR-ABL1, p190
BA190M
Clinical significance:
This test should be used to monitor response to therapy in patients with known e1/a2 BCR-ABL1 p190 fusion forms.
