Specimen processing instructions:
Plasma: Centrifuge at 1100-2000 g for a minimum of 10 minutes. Serum: Allow to clot. Centrifuge at 1100-2000 g for a minimum of 10 minutes. 
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (preferred). Frozen specimen also acceptable.
Specimen stability:
Refrigerated: 7 days. Frozen: 3 months.
Rejection criteria:
Stability limits exceeded.

  <18 yrs old:  
  <170 mg/dL Acceptable
  170-199 mg/dL Borderline High
  >= 200 mg/dL High
  <200 mg/dL Desirable
  200-239 mg/dL Borderline high
  >=240 mg/dL High
