Specimen required:
One (1) full 3.5 mL gold-top serum separator tube (preferred). Aliquot also acceptable but not preferred (0.6 mL minimum).
Special notes:
If collecting specimen in microcollection tubes, collect 3 FULL serum separator microcollection tubes.

SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
Allow to clot. Centrifuge and submit one (1) full 3.5 mL gold-top serum separator tube (preferred). Aliquot also acceptable but not preferred (0.6 mL minimum).

Specimen stability:
Stable seven (7) days at 2-8 degreesC or six (6) months at -20 degrees C.
Rejection criteria:
Specimen will be rejected if stability limit has been exceeded or if specimen is hemolyzed, lipemic or icteric.
