Clinical significance: |
Anti-Ma and anti-Ta antibodies can be detected in patients with a wide range of paraneoplastic neurological syndromes including acute or subacute onset of symptoms of limbic encephalitis, brainstem encephalitis, cerebellar degeneration, or polyneuropathy. This semi-quantitative assay may be useful in monitoring therapeutic responses in select cases |
