Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used in the treatment of gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections, especially Pseudomonas, Proteus, Klebsiella, and Staphylococcus. Serial monitoring of peak and trough serum levels provides the physician with information to maintain safe and therapeutic levels. | |
