6 mL red-top (plain, non-serum separator) tube
Specimen required:
2 mL serum; minimum 0.5 mL.
Patient preparation:
Overnight fasting required. Patient should rest for 30 minutes prior to collection.

SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
Allow to clot. Centrifuge and submit 2 mL serum.

Refrigerated
Specimen stability:
Stable 5 days at 2-8°C or 2 months at -20°C.
Rejection criteria:
Specimen will be rejected if hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic or if stability limits are exceeded.
