Preferred specimen is serum collected in a 6 mL plain red-top (non-serum separator) tube or 6 mL plain dark-blue-top tube (no additive). Plasma collected in EDTA tube or gray-top fluoride oxalate tube is also acceptable. Do not collect in serum separator tube (SST) or heparin tubes. | |

Allow serum to clot. Centrifuge serum or plasma 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. | |
