Collect 24-hour urine without preservative. Refrigerate during and after collection. Mix well. Estimate total collection volume from 24-hour urine container. Remove required aliquot. Record total volume on both aliquot tube and request slip (if applicable). | |
Patient preparation: |
Do not include first morning specimen; collect all subsequent voidings. The last sample collected should be the first morning specimen voided the following morning at the same time as the previous morning's first voiding. | |
