Clinical significance: |
Increased CRP levels are found in inflammatory conditions, including bacterial infection, rheumatic fever, active arthritis, myocardial infarction, malignancies and in the postoperative state. This test cannot detect the relatively small elevations of CRP that are associated with increased cardiovascular risk. | |
