SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
Centrifuge and aliquot. Separate serum from cells ASAP. Parallel testing is preferred and convalescent specimens must be received within 30 days of the acute specimens. Mark specimens plainly as acute or convalescent. 
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (cold packs).
Specimen stability:
Room temperature: 48 hours. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 1 year.
