6 mL whole blood; minimum 5 mL.
Special notes:
Submit original collection tube. Do not transfer blood to other containers. Draw specimen Monday through Thursday only and not the day before a holiday. Specimens are processed Monday through Sunday. Specimen should be drawn and packaged as close to shipping time as possible.

Specimen must arrive within 96 hours of draw to be stabilized. Specimen cannot be frozen. Do not transfer blood to other containers. Specimens are processed Monday through Sunday. 
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (cold packs).
Specimen stability:
Room temperature: 4 days. Refrigerated: 4 days. Frozen: Unacceptable.
Rejection criteria:
Received frozen • Specimens other than whole blood • Anticoagulants other than ACD A or B • Gross hemolysis • Specimen >96 hours old
