Clinical significance: |
CK-MB is used for evaluation of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) due to its release from myocytes during necrosis of heart muscle. Lesser amounts of CKMB are found in skeletal muscle, and CKMB elevations may be observed after crush injuries. | |
