6 mL red-top (plain, non-serum separator) tube
Specimen required:
1.5 mL aliquot of frozen serum; minimum 0.8 mL. Please submit a separate frozen aliquot for this test. It may not be combined with any other test requiring a frozen aliquot.
Special notes:
Avoid hemolysis. Maternal Serum Screen Information Form must be fully completed by referring physician. Download form.
Patient preparation:
Patient must be 10 weeks to 13 weeks, 6 days gestation.

SPECIMEN PROCESSING
Specimen processing instructions:
These specimens must be sent to GMC. GMC will populate batch to Quest. 
Transport temperature:
Frozen.
Specimen stability:
Room temperature: 7 days. Refrigerated: 7 days. Frozen: 45 days.
Rejection criteria:
Specimen will be rejected if stability limit has been exceeded or if specimen is hemolyzed, lipemic or icteric.

Clinical significance:
