8 hour fasting is required. 75-g glucose tolerance test for women at 24 – 28 weeks of gestation not previously diagnosed with diabetes | |

Based on the 2011 guidelines from the American Diabetes Association, gestational diabetes mellitus is diagnosed when any of the following is met: Fasting is greater than or equal to 92 mg/dL 1 hour is greater than or equal to 180 mg/dL 2 hour is greater than or equal to 153 mg/dL |
